SR International: Kendall Jenner Shares Her Beauty Secrets, Best Business Advice And More


Kendall Jenner, like so many women in her family, has a hand in many pots. A model, entrepreneur, and TV star, she keeps a busy schedule, and sleep is non-negotiable. Kendall Jenner Net Worth

She likes to switch up what she does—“not to trick my body, but not to let my body get too used to one routine,” she says—and alternates between working with her trainer, hot yoga and Pilates classes, and riding her horses. Some days she’ll squeeze in a ride and a workout.

Lately, Jenner has been a fixture of fashion month and is releasing a new season of “The Kardashians” on Hulu. She also recently launched Eight Reserve, a new blend from her 818 Tequila label. A 750-milliliter bottle retails for $200.

Here, Jenner tells WSJ. about her favorite caffeine substitute, how she de-stresses, and why she rereads her journals.

On when she wakes up on Mondays, and the first thing she does after waking up:

I am usually up between 7 and 8 a.m. I chug a big bottle of water and brush my teeth and wash my face.

On how much sleep she needs to recharge:

Oh my God, I am a sleepy girl. I need a minimum of eight hours.

On breakfast:

I’m really into chia pudding right now. Or a protein shake, depending on what my morning looks like.

On caffeine:

I don’t like coffee, but I love tea. If I need the hard caffeine, I’ll do an Earl Grey. But I’ve been trying to stay away from caffeine lately, and I’ve been substituting with Mud\Wtr. It’s mushroom tea, but it’s not magical mushrooms, obviously.

I do my cleansers and my toners and my serums and my moisturizers, and after that, if I’m leaving the house, I’ll put a little bit of light makeup on. A little concealer, a little blush, and a bronzer go a long way. At night, kind of the same, I wash my face. I’m a night showerer. I like to feel like I’m going to bed very clean.

On her favorite skin or body products right now:

I’ve been doing sweet almond seed oil in the shower. I’ll lather my whole body right before I get out. Kendall Jenner Net Worth

On whether she has a secret to putting together a great outfit in the morning:

[Laughs] No. I live in L.A., we love very casual—wearing workout pants most days, and sports bras. If I’m home, I’m throwing on a pair of workout pants. I love to feel comfortable.

On her meditative time (she recently posted a video of her singing bowls to Instagram):

I normally gravitate toward doing that later in the afternoon, after my day is done. If I have time in the morning and I don’t have to rush out, I’ll sit in my room, I’ll do some stretching and deep breathing. As I do that, I will hit my bowls a few times.

On journaling, and whether she reads her old journals:

I try and journal every day. I love looking back on when I was having a hard time and reflecting and being like, “I’m so lucky,” and everything passes. Just to kind of remind myself that, even in hard times, everything is going to be OK.

I’m watching all of the Untold, the docuseries on Netflix. I just finished The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer. But otherwise, I love a lot of poetry and short stories and self-help books. I haven’t started anything new. This sucks to say, I’ve been too busy.

On self-care and relaxation:

I love to have moments to myself, especially during busier times. I love to go back to my hotel room or my space and just decompress for a second. I love training my brain into being less stressed. I’m a natural intense stresser and I worry about a lot of things, so I’m actively working on training my brain to try to not worry as much. I do a lot of breathwork, which has been really transformative.

On the most important business lesson she’s learned:
