Like every other Nigerian child, you must have worn school checks at some point between nursery and secondary school. This new collection by House of Borah is one with a strong nostalgic energy affixed to it. Popularly worn as uniforms by school girls and boys in boarding houses, the school check is a Nigerian-made check pattern fabric mostly available in colors like blue, green, red, purple and yellow. The new collection titled Dara is reminisce of the good old boarding school days with a fashionable and contemporary twist to it.
In this collection, House of Borah channels ‘Joy’, which translates to ‘Dara’ in the Ibibio language, as it creates trendy yet classic pieces that appeal to the woman who is stylish, happy and confident. The versatile lookbook incorporates fun, sexy and classy looks all in one ‘out-of-the-box’ collection.
We are excited to see Nigerian designers go in a new direction and forge new trends. We can’t wait to see ‘lookbook to real life’ outfits inspired by this collection.
