Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz are celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary in grand style. Funke Akindele went on her Instagram page on Sunday, August 23, 2020, to share some heartwarming photos to celebrate her fourth anniversary. The Nigerian News Today.

“All glory to God!!! 4 years and many more years to spend together in good health and wealth in Jesus’ name. I love you My King @jjcskillz,” she captioned one of the photos.

Funke Akindele and JJC got married in an off-the-radar wedding ceremony on August 23, 2016, in London. Their marriage is blessed with two kids.

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has been showered with an expensive gift. The “Taking Over” hitmaker has just added another expensive car to his fleet of luxury cars. Shatta Wale, who has received over five luxury cars as gifts, just got another one. He revealed this in one of his Snap stories yesterday.

He showed off the brand new 2020 BMW 7 Series which is worth almost $158,000 (equivalent to GHC 913,695). Shatta Wale now owns over five cars which he received as gifts.

#3. South Africa: Healthcare sector strike to intensify despite union meeting with Mkhize

The National Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) has no plans to back down and will begin protest action on Monday, August 24, 2020. NEHAWU, which boasts a membership of 235 000 and is the biggest public-sector union in the country, is demanding an increase in workers’ salaries as well as adequate personal protective equipment (PPE).

They have also demanded that the government fill all vacant posts in the public healthcare sector. The decision to continue picketing follows talks with the Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

#4. Zoom goes down, affecting education and workplace activities

Zoom, the video conferencing service that has become ubiquitous in the remote-work pandemic life, suffered a mass outage on Monday morning, the company acknowledged. The Nigerian News Today.

“If you’re having trouble connecting to Zoom, we have identified the issue and are working on a fix,” San Jose-based Zoom said in a statement at 10:23 a.m. ET. “We’re so sorry about the inconvenience.”

The outage could be impacting millions of employees, with meetings now moving online in the pandemic, and students, in perhaps their first day of the new remote fall semester.

#5. Nampalys Mendy: Leicester City midfielder signs two-year contract extension

Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy has signed a two-year contract extension until the summer of 2022. Mendy, 28, joined Leicester from Nice in 2016 before rejoining the Ligue 1 side on loan for the 2017-18 season.

The Frenchman had been out of contract in June but signed a short-term extension to cover the end of the restarted Premier League season.

“The more I’ve seen of him, the more impressed I’ve been,” said Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers. The Nigerian News Today.

“To have someone with his experience, quality and maturity is a big boost for us, especially with European football next season.”
