There really isn’t any bad mood Afrobeats can’t get one out of. The groovy, drum-heavy sound will leave you tapping your feet until you find yourself dancing. This is exactly how this week’s hot releases have us feeling on every listen. With the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Playboy, Fireboy DML has given fans another hot topic song titled “Ashawo” and the lyrics will have you hitting replay.

Another new release that has had social media talking is Bella Shmurda’s New Born Fela. Asides from the song being very catchy, the colorful visuals and the theme definitely has had the intended impact on the general public. By blending the energetic rhythm and energy of Afrobeats with the percussive and electronic vibes of Electronic Dance Music, Fireboy DML created a sound akin to a breath of fresh air. This song is off his newly released album titled Playboy.

#2. Mr. Eazi – Personal Baby

Big shot and CEO of EmPawa Music Group Mr. Eazi is out with a new song titled Personal Baby. This song serves as the second song off his new album era which comes a few weeks after his chart-topping Legalize. The producer behind this exhilarating track is Kel P, who also has a way of making the best and most pleasant soundtracks when it comes to music production.

#3. Bella Shmurda – New Born Fela

Bella Shmurda is without any doubt one of the most trending figures in contemporary Nigerian music. It’s no surprise the Dangbana Republik figurehead chose to run with the New Born Fela tag for the single off his highly anticipated debut album Hypertension. New Born Fela is an ode to Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the continent’s biggest musical export and a highly certified rebel before the 2000s.

#4. T.I Blaze – My Life

Rising star and talented Nigerian street anthem singer T.I Blaze is back with a new song titled My Life. This comes after his last single titled Zero Joy. My life is T.I Blaze’s fourth song of the year which is guaranteed to be one of the hottest street bangers of 2022. In this song, the singer chronicles his life and his stint with law enforcement as they’ve been cracking down on artists in Nigeria.

#5. Ajebutter22 ft. Kida Judz – Confam

After a hiatus that lasted for about a year, singer and rapper Ajebutter22 is back with another song with British Nigerian rapper Kida Kudz titled Confam. The new record serves as his first released track for the year after a long wait since his last music appearance on the song Feeling Funky. On the drums and guitar-heavy song, the two artists ensure listeners that there’s no cause for alarm as they are having the time of life — a confam time.
