he entire week saw an overflow of celebrities and top influencers furnishing the red carpets with undeniable flamboyance. The 76th Cannes Film Festival increased the fashion tempo last week, and stars rose to the occasion in diverse ensembles that spoke fluently in elegance. The capes were exaggerated, hues took a boisterous spin, and fabrics came in nothing short of luxurious.
Although Cannes seemed to be the sartorial quarters for celebrities and their stylists to show off their fashion takes, celebrities like Zendaya lit up the Bulgari Mediterranea High Jewelry show in Venice. And needless to say, Beyoncé is still outside, touring and serving looks. A class act and more.
The Looks
Nollywood star Chika Ike and stylist Swanky Jerry were the duo to reckon with at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival. The star was flamboyantly clad in an emerald-toned frock with an exaggerated cape, and it’s clear why she was on everyone’s best-dressed list. From Vogue Scandinavia to the New York Times and CNN Style, they all rendered testimonials on the beauty that was this Kud Collection number. The poise of the actor, the creativity of the designer, and the zest of the stylist made this look a full-on masterpiece.
Meanwhile, the iconic actress Viola Davis was a sight for sore eyes at Festival de Cannes. She bodied an ivory Maison Valentino ostrich feather long coat over a mono-strap dress. The look was undoubtedly one of the most talked about renderings at the event. A proud fashion moment — something Davis now does effortlessly.
…And the darling Zendaya happened at the Bulgari Mediterranea High Jewelry show in Venice, Italy. The star wore a timeless custom silk velvet off-the-shoulder dress by Richard Quinn and an outstanding Bulgari diamond serpenti necklace. She and Law Roach never miss a beat, that’s the symphony every muse should aspire to have with her stylist. I mean, who else could bring Roach out of retirement at will? That’s right.
