On the 21st of October, 2018 history was made as Emelda Ezinne Remi emerged as the winner of the Mrs Nigeria 2018 competition in Lagos. She is now set to represent Nigeria in the upcoming Mrs Universe holding this December in Manilla, Philippines as one of the finalists for the pageant.
Emelda is an advocate for women issues through her platforms for women empowerment. Also, she is currently involved in providing women empowerment through skill acquisition and funding through her position as a convener of the Women Alliance Group, an organization which provides women with the opportunity to interact for professional, business, social and philanthropic purposes.
Mrs Universe is a world-renowned ‘non-bikini’ pageant for married women which is headquartered in Bulgaria. The journey of pursuing the coveted title starts when married women representing each state gather at a preparation camp in their respective countries to engage in activities alongside other pageant competitors while collecting scores from the preliminary competitions that include cultural, evening gown and attitude-reflected responses.
The pageant celebrates married women who are doing phenomenal work to uplift and enhance their local communities through CSI initiatives, business development and global trade opportunities.
