Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2018 Haute Couture Collection Is All About Paris In The 1920s | Lookbook
A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Elie Saab, the king of glamour unveiled his Spring/Summer 2018 haute couture collection in Paris during the Haute Couture Fashion Week and it can be rightly termed “Les Années Folles” – The Roaring Twenties! According to the brand, the collection was inspired by “the women in Paris in the 1920s translating their sophisticated elegance into pieces of timeless chic.” My love and admiration for the designer increased with every look I saw on the runway.
For this collection, Elie Saab kicked the glam up several notches by adding plenty of feathers, oversized silk/satin bows and bedazzled bathing caps with the use of crystal twinkling on chiffon.
The vibe of the collection is in a largely subdued palette of champagne, silvery blue, and black with just a hint of rose. Each look was beaded, bejewelled, feathered, and wrapped in a bow to varying degrees. More often than not, the dresses were sheer and in the necessary parts deliberately decorated; yet in comparative terms, they weren’t all that risqué.
