1. Diddy enters the cannabis industry and signs lucrative deal

Diddy may want to revert to the Puff Daddy persona for this new business venture as the mogul is entering the cannabis space and has agreed to acquire licensed cannabis operations in New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois from Cresco Labs Inc. and Columbia Care Inc. in a deal worth up to $185 million, according to reports. The deal was sealed and delivered after Cresco Labs agreed to purchase rival Columbia Care in a $2 billion deal earlier this year, which would make Cresco the top U.S. cannabis producer and become one of the biggest deals in the cannabis industry, requiring Cresco to divest assets in limited-license markets such as New York.

According to a press release from Combs and the companies, this marks the entrepreneur’s first investment in cannabis and will create the country’s first minority-owned, vertically integrated multi-state cannabis company and the world’s largest Black-owned cannabis company. The new deal includes four retail stores and one production facility in New York state; three retail stores and one production facility in Massachusetts; and two retail stores and one production facility in Illinois.

2. Wizkid unveils tracklist for ‘More Love, Less Ego’

On Tuesday, November 8, Wizkid unveiled the tracklist for his next album via his Twitter account. “More Love, Less Ego” is set to be Wizkid’s 5th full-length album, and it is scheduled for a November 11 release. The tracklist revealed the album will have 13 songs with guest appearances from multiple artists.

The body of work will feature guest appearances from British rapper Skepta, who appears on the same track as Nigerian star Naira Marley. Jamaican Dancehall star Shenseea appears alongside Skillibeng. Also on the album are fast-rising Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr and American artist Don Toliver. Wizkid was earlier set to release the album on November 4, but he postponed the release following the sad loss of Davido’s son Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Fashion designer David Tlale has broken his silence after sexual allegations against him surfaced over the weekend. Rape and exploitation accusations were made against him on Instagram by user Zack (handle @mrzackiekins) on Sunday. David, who has been a fashion designer for more than 19 years, has dismissed all allegations and told the media they were false and malicious.

“Some very serious and quite damning allegations leveled against me and my professional brand have surfaced over the weekend. These allegations are categorically false and only seek to cause me serious harm and also seek to undermine the lived experiences of those who are real victims of sexual assault of any nature. While I consult with my internal team of experts on this matter, this shall be the first and only comment on this issue until I am advised otherwise,” he said.

The young entrepreneur, known only as Zack, spoke about his experience as an employee at African Fashion International (AFI) three years ago. In his post, Zack alleged he was drugged, sexually abused, and professionally exploited by the veteran designer.

4. TakeOff’s funeral to be held at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena

The funeral for Migos rapper TakeOff will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Friday, November 11. According to reports, the service will be officiated by Pastor Jesse Curney III of New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn. TakeOff and his family were attendees at the church.

The 28-year-old, born Kirsnik Khari Ball, died after he was shot and killed in the crossfire at a private event at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston on November 1. An autopsy report revealed that the artist died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Quavo‘s assistant, Joshua “Wash” Washington, was also shot during the altercation and was rushed from the scene to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

5. Reece James gets hopeful England World Cup injury update

Chelsea manager Graham Potter said England full-back Reece James is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury ahead of the World Cup. James has returned to light training at Chelsea this week. He remains a doubt for the World Cup, but the prospect of him traveling to Qatar no longer seems outlandish. “Reece was outside today having a little jog,” Potter told reporters. On the full-back’s chances of being ready for the tournament in Qatar, the head coach added: “I just think it’s how he responds. We don’t want to rush anything, I don’t want to put any timescales on it. That’s for him, the doctors, and physios.”

England manager Gareth Southgate plans to announce his 26-man squad on Thursday, and if James is deemed fit he would likely be considered worthy of selection. Otherwise, the Three Lions would turn to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kieran Trippier or Kyle Walker (if fit) at right back. After Southgate announces his World Cup squad, the players will gather in camp and begin preparations for their opening match on November 21 against Iran. Diddy Cannabis
