Celebs Bring Back The ’20s With Their Great Gatsby Looks At The Cold Feet Movie Premiere

Sunday night was one for 1920s glam as the Cold Feet movie premiere took place at the Lagos Continental hotel. The black carpet theme was “The Great Gatsby” and from the makeup to accessories to the outfits, celebrities delivered their own unique rendition of Great Gatsby looks.

The Great Gatsby film was an adaptation of the 1925 novel of the same name as written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The plot follows a cast of characters living in two fictional towns on the rich end of Long Island, New York in the summer of 1922. The 1920s were quite an interesting time; hemlines were getting shorter as necklines dipped to reveal more skin and shoulders were more exposed.

The beauty looks of the ’20s were even more dramatic. The earlier stigma attached to makeup and prostitutes was gone so women became bolder with smokey eyes, rose-coloured cheeks and deep blood-red lips. Hairs became shorter and party girls would adorn their hair with headbands or hair nets with feathers and jewels. The ladies of this era partied more as drinking and smoking also became more common.

Some of these looks were recreated by the Nollywood celebrities and guests that hit the black carpet for the Cold Feet movie premiere. From BamBam’s beaded skull cap to Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s feathered forehead band and Nancy Isime’s fancy cigarette holder, Nollywood IT-girls were very much in touch with their inner flapper girl.

Here’s how they took us back to the ’20s with their Great Gatsby beauty looks…
