or those who didn’t get the memo, this is officially the season to go all out because any slay you fail to make this period will have to be rolled into 2023, and who knows what the beauty gods will have in store then? Whether it’s in the hair or makeup department, maximum effort is what’s required to hit the mark this season. True to their nature, Black celebs brought the A-game last week advocating for makeup and hairstyles irresistible enough to land them in Santa’s good books. Holiday makeup inspirations.

Last week, singer Keri Hilson entered the fourth floor and she celebrated the milestone adorned in a soft, sultry face beat. The look played with varying shades of peach across her eyelids, cheeks, and lips that so effortlessly complemented her olive skin and hazel eyes. No doubt, 40 has never looked this good. 

While Hilson favored the seduction of peach, Janelle Monae made a case for nudes with impressive results. Twenty-twenty-two has had the beauty space locked in on the soft beat, but a number of women have found it difficult to hop on the trend. If you fall into this category, you’ll be glad to know that Monae’s look is just the holiday makeup inspiration you need. Easy, simple, but in no way boring.

Hair

There was a slew of award shows that marked our calendar last week, and one such is the 2022 SFFILM Awards that took place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Fransisco. For the event, Black Panther star Danai Gurira showed up sporting rich curls in all their glory. The side-part hairstyle with a puffy section added dimension to her face. Plus, the gold hair accessory that adorned the side of her hair did well to complement the gold details on her outfit.
