‘Call Her Classic Ltd’ Set To Organize Bridal Fashion Week In Nigeria

While most of the major fashion cities around the world, if not all, have a bridal fashion week, Nigeria is yet to have her own. However, Call Her Classic Ltd is about to change this! They are a fashion agency which aims to promote the Nigerian fashion industry with their principal project being creating a Bridal Fashion Week.

I love weddings! The planning, execution, smile on the face of the bride, her dress, the bridesmaids, the music and most especially the food. It is no news that getting married in Nigeria is big business and one that is worth millions of dollars. The cost of an average Nigerian wedding can range from N3.5 million to N5 million and even more as some weddings cater for as many as 1000 guests. With how big the wedding industry is in Nigeria, there is definitely a growing niche for wedding fashion here.

There is no doubt that most Nigerians are usually dreaming of foreign brands like Vera Wang, Elie Saab, Ralph and Russo and so on and our Nigerian designers are rarely ever taken into account. This is where Bridal Fashion Week comes in, with the aim to shift that narrative back home.

According to the brand,

“The thriving Nigerian Bridal Fashion industry is currently lacking a platform solely dedicated to promoting it’s talents locally and internationally. The three-day event aims to promote the Nigerian bridal fashion industry by creating a platform for Nigeria’s finest designers to showcase their work to local and international brides-to- be, bridal stylists, buyers and other key stakeholders, under one roof in Lagos. In addition to runway shows, guests at the Bridal Fashion Week will have the opportunity to consult with Nigeria’s leading bridal stylists and shop at the CHC Bridal Boutique – a collection of vendors selling bridal (and wedding) products at the event.”

There will be more information released over time, but in the meantime, the brand revealed that the event will be divided into 3 action-packed segments:

  1. Bridal runway shows
  2. The CHC Bridal Boutique – a collection of vendors selling bridal and wedding products
  3. The CHC Bridal consultation experience – brides will have the opportunity to try on wedding dresses and get style tips from Nigeria’s leading stylists.

It sure will be something special!
