During Missy Elliott’s ‘Out Of This World’ tour in Atlanta, talented performers Ciara and Monica Denise linked up in what seemed beyond music to be a soul-sister fashion reunion. We are unaware if this was a preconceived fashion theme, but all-black led the night. Both showed out in sleek leather outfits accompanied by thigh-high boots and finished off with sleek long hair, albeit in different hues. The fashion energy was fierce, as were all things black. The nostalgic link-up only befits the legend of Missy Elliot.
However, Christmas might be four months away, but Mariah Carey thawed early. Announcing her Christmas tour, Carey posed in a red, shimmering Valdrini Sahiti dress and her signature wavy hair. The cleavage-baring number revealed a blinding diamond necklace, which lent its shine to the already beguiling aesthetic. One thing Carey will always do, perhaps two: secure the Christmas bag and start a knowing countdown in style.
Meanwhile, South African star girl Bonang Matheba made a chic case for leather—one a fashion girlie would be willing to take even on a hot summer day. To publicize her reality show, “B*dazzled by Bonang,” she wrapped herself in coordinated layers of leather. The white leather set featured oversized pants and a cropped zipper jacket, characterized by fine tailoring and an expensive texture. In addition, she styled this with a brown coat for a worthy contrast, then punctuated the look with a sizeable tote. Class can’t be taught. From the color play to silhouette, big things only pop for Bonang.
