Last week, the stars radiated enthusiasm and spontaneity, fueled by a blend of factors like the U.S. elections, spooky season, and the approach of the holidays. Events such as the 2024 CFDA Awards and the LACMA Art+Film Gala provided ample opportunity for striking celebrity fashion. The past week saw a predominance of toned-down colors, with black taking center stage, yet there was still room for pops of color to announce themselves. Beyond colors, suits came out to play, while dresses captivated with beguiling silhouettes, cut-out details, and eye-catching designs.

The Looks

Cynthia Erivo consistently embraces eclectic fashion that transcends gender boundaries, and her look at the Sydney premiere of Wicked was no exception. Dressed in an edgy Louis Vuitton maxi dress featuring a mini peplum detail at the waist and a strikingly uneven hip design, she made a bold statement. The Roberto Coin lion head choker added an eye-catching touch, while her long, embellished nails sharpened the overall aesthetic. This striking coordination perfectly embodied her witchy role in the film. To top it off, her bald head and dark sunglasses injected even more flair into this already captivating ensemble.

Lala Anthony is always in the mood, and her look at the 2024 CFDA Awards was yet another show-stopping moment—something she knows how to deliver. Lala dazzled in a zebra print coat featuring an exaggerated collar, expertly pairing it with polka dot pumps to create a cohesive clash of prints. The ensemble was perfectly complemented by a striking gold and black head wrap, adding the finishing touch to her standout look.

Also turning heads at the same event was Ciara, who embraced the black-and-white theme with her daring style. She donned a sleek white tank top paired with matching elbow-length gloves and an intricately crafted black skirt that featured pockets, finishing the look with sturdy boots. The night called for bold expressions, and the stars answered with precision and flair. Indeed, sometimes black and white is everything.

The LACMA Art+Film Gala was a star-studded affair, showcasing a stunning array of celebrity fashion. Viola Davis made a majestic entrance in a black embellished Gucci dress featuring a deep neckline, complemented by a striking Sabyasachi necklace and earrings. The combination of sequins and sheer fabric was both glamorous and artful, perfectly suited for the evening.
