The Cannes Film Festival never disappoints—and last week’s red carpet rollout was no exception. As Hollywood royalty and global stars continued to make their mark on the French Riviera, one thing was clear: style took center stage. From high-octane couture gowns to sculptural fashion feats, the ensembles weren’t about playing it safe—they were all about commanding attention and delivering unforgettable moments.

Moreover, the South of France was sizzling with more than just Mediterranean heat. Thanks to visionary stylists and fashion risk-takers, the red carpet transformed into a runway of daring silhouettes, electric hues, and intricate craftsmanship. If last week’s looks are any indication, the standard for Cannes style has officially been elevated—and we’re absolutely here for it.

The Looks

To kick things off, Viola Davis delivered a masterclass in red carpet glamour at The Mastermind premiere—and let’s just say, she understood the assignment. Representing L’Oréal in full technicolor glory, Davis radiated confidence in a striking neon green Gucci gown. The chiffon silhouette featured a plunging neckline, ruched bodice, and shoulder-draped trains that moved with grace and purpose. And what topped off this vibrant Cannes Film Festival outfit? A voluminous natural Afro and dazzling Bvlgari jewelry, of course!

Not far behind, Halle Berry served regal drama at the Chopard Universe Dinner in a sculpted maroon masterpiece by Gaurav Gupta. Pulled from the Fall 2024 “Jyotirgamaya” collection, the off-shoulder corset gown stunned with its spiral draping and thigh-high slit. The rich Bordeaux tone whispered sophistication, while ruby drop earrings and matching satin pumps sealed the look with cinematic finesse. It was a Cannes moment that felt both bold and timeless.

Meanwhile, Ciara brought her signature edge to the amfAR Gala 2025 in a jaw-dropping Stephane Rolland number. The sculptural silk jersey gown, detailed with draped sand gazar and embroidered crystals, felt like wearable architecture—elegant, experimental, and wholly unforgettable. Sleek, refined hair completed the look, transforming the ensemble into one of the most editorial Cannes Film Festival outfits we’ve seen this season.
