1. ASAP Rocky makes Paris Fashion Week debut with first AWGE runway collection

Rapper and fashion icon ASAP Rocky made a splash on the international fashion scene with the debut of his AWGE collection at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. The highly-anticipated show, titled “American Sabotage,” presented over 30 new looks designed by Rocky himself in collaboration with a creative team.

The collection drew inspiration from a mix of art, activism, and streetwear, reflecting Rocky’s signature edgy style. Models donned loose yet structured suits with an unconventional twist, alongside streetwear staples like vests and long sleeves emblazoned with the “American Sabotage” slogan. Layering, patches, and classic silhouettes were given a fresh take with innovative cuts and detailing.

The show itself was a performance as much as a presentation. Held in a historic Parisian venue, the Hôtel de Maisons, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation. A live stream broadcast the event simultaneously on various platforms, though technical difficulties added to the raw energy.

2. Simi unveils ‘Lost and Found’ album tracklist

Singer Simi has unveiled the tracklist for her highly anticipated fifth studio album, set to drop on July 5. The 14-track album, titled “Lost and Found,” promises a dynamic mix of sounds and features some of Afrobeats’ hottest stars. Fans can expect collaborations with established names like Asa, Ladipoe, and Tiwa Savage, alongside the new wave’s Lojay and Bella Shmurda. But the biggest surprise is the legendary Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, adding a touch of timeless class to the project.

Simi has already set the mood with three pre-released singles: “All I Want,” the girl-power anthem “Men Are Crazy” featuring Tiwa Savage, and the playful “Borrow Me Your Baby” with Falz. With these teasers and the now-revealed tracklist, anticipation is soaring for the album.

3. South Africa: Heartbroken Shebeshxt attends daughter’s funeral in a wheelchair after horror crash

Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, attended his daughter’s funeral in a wheelchair on Saturday, June 22. This comes after a horrific car accident that claimed his daughter’s life and left him seriously injured. The accident occurred along the R37 near the Smelters Mine outside Polokwane. Shebeshxt’s Volkswagen Polo collided with a heavy-duty vehicle, resulting in his hospitalization and his daughter, Onthatile Chuene, tragically passing away at the scene.

Despite still recovering from his injuries, Shebeshxt was determined to pay his final respects to his daughter. Family spokesperson James Magoro explained that they received the doctor’s approval and picked the rapper up from Netcare Pholoso Hospital in Polokwane on the morning of the funeral. While Shebeshxt was able to see his daughter in her white casket, decorated with a Frozen theme, his condition prevented him from attending the burial at Lebowakgomo Cemetery.

4. Princess Anne in hospital with minor injuries and concussion after incident

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Princess Anne, the Princess Royal and sister to King Charles III, was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol following an incident at her Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday evening. According to the palace statement, the princess sustained “minor injuries and a concussion.” She is being kept at the hospital, and a full recovery is expected.

The cause of the incident remains unconfirmed, but media outlets have reported that it may have involved a horse. The Princess Royal is known for her lifelong passion for horses and even competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. King Charles has been informed of his sister’s condition and joins the entire Royal Family in wishing her a speedy recovery.

5. Napoli slash the asking price for wantaway striker Victor Osimhen amid lack of transfer interest

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is pushing for a move away from Napoli this summer, and the Italian club has responded by reportedly lowering their asking price in the face of a lack of transfer interest. Following disagreements between Osimhen and Napoli, the Serie A side initially placed a hefty €150 million price tag on the striker. However, according to reports, a lack of concrete offers has forced Napoli to adjust their expectations, with the asking price now down to €100 million.

Osimhen has been a key player for Napoli since joining from Lille in 2020, scoring 30 goals in 64 appearances across all competitions. However, it appears the relationship between the player and the club has soured, leading to Osimhen’s desire for a fresh start. Whether €100 million will be enough to tempt a major European club to come forward remains to be seen.
