1. A’ja Wilson Makes History As The First Four-Time WNBA MVP Award Winner

Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson has officially etched her name into the WNBA history books, becoming the league’s first-ever four-time Most Valuable Player. Wilson, 29, was awarded the 2025 MVP trophy following another dominant season in which she led the Aces through adversity while maintaining her status as one of the game’s most consistent and unshakable forces. She received the honor during a surprise moment at practice on September 19, when WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, joined by Wilson’s boyfriend and NBA star Bam Adebayo, delivered the news in front of her team. Wilson earned 51 first-place votes and 657 total points, surpassing Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier, Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas, Atlanta’s Allisha Gray, and Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell.

With this win, Wilson surpasses legendary three-time MVPs Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson to stand alone atop the league’s MVP leaderboard. Accepting the award ahead of Game One of the WNBA semifinals against the Indiana Fever, Wilson credited her teammates for helping her stay grounded through a season that tested both her and the team’s resilience. With the Aces still battling in the playoffs, Wilson’s leadership and legacy continue to shine, not only through accolades but through her unwavering commitment to the game and her team.

2. Bella Shmurda Announces Release Date For New Album, Sanity

Street-hop sensation Bella Shmurda is gearing up to release his next studio album,  Sanity, arriving Friday, October 3. The Lagos-born artist made the announcement with a powerful and emotional trailer that gives fans an early look into the heart of the project, one that promises vulnerability, reflection, and raw energy.

The trailer opens with serene visuals: Bella in a white shirt, smiling gently while playing with a child on a sunlit balcony. But the warmth soon gives way to solitude, as shots of him smoking and gazing into the distance suggest a deeper internal struggle. Overlaying the visuals is a haunting blend of ethereal melodies and spoken-word narration that evokes a sermon-like quality. “The greatest war is sanity… It’s a battle with yourself,” the voice declares, setting the tone for what could be Bella’s most introspective work yet. The clip ends with flashes of his signature high-octane performances, underscoring the contrast between his public persona and private battles. With Sanity, Bella Shmurda appears ready to explore themes of resilience, fame, and the fight to stay grounded, offering an album likely to resonate far beyond the streets that shaped him.

3. Charlie Kirk’s Funeral Hits Capacity As 200K People Turn Out

In a scene more reminiscent of a national revival than a funeral, an estimated 200,000 people turned out in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday to honor slain Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk. The massive memorial, held at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, quickly reached capacity, prompting organizers to redirect thousands to an overflow venue at the adjacent Desert Diamond Arena. The gathering, which included President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and key White House officials, was a testament to Kirk’s immense influence in conservative circles and beyond.

President Trump praised Kirk as “a great American hero” and “a martyr now for America,” declaring, “Charlie Kirk loved America with everything he had. And as we can see so clearly today, America loved Charlie Kirk.” The event was deeply emotional, with Kirk’s widow, Erika, now CEO of Turning Point USA, offering a moment of grace by publicly forgiving her husband’s accused killer, Tyler Robinson. “The answer to hate is not hate,” she said, drawing a standing ovation. Though the solemn service attracted national leaders and grieving supporters dressed in red, white, and blue, a small number of protesters gathered outside, adding tension to an already heavy day. Despite the tragedy, the crowd echoed a singular message: Charlie Kirk’s legacy, however polarizing, has only just begun.

4. Monaleo and Stunna 4 Vegas Tie The Knot In a Lavish Pink Wedding Ceremony

Hip-hop had its fairytale moment on Friday, September 19, as Monaleo and Stunna 4 Vegas said “I do” in a lavish, all-pink ceremony streamed live on TikTok. The rap couple, known for their chemistry both on and off the mic, shared their nuptials with millions of fans in real time. Monaleo, glowing in a custom pink gown, was escorted down the aisle by her father to Beyoncé’s “1+1,” while Stunna held back tears in a blush suit with a dramatic tail. Even the officiant couldn’t help but crack, “Whew, somebody loves somebody in here.”

The couple, who share a young son, sealed their vows with a kiss and the traditional jump over the broom before celebrating with a star-studded reception. Houston legends like Paul Wall, Johnny Dang, Kaliii, and Bun B, who surprised guests with a live rendition of UGK’s iconic “Int’l Players Anthem,” were all in attendance. Monaleo proudly flashed her ring and declared, “We married, y’all!” while Stunna added with swagger, “Check the suit. 5. Bournemouth’s Kluivert Receives Guinness World Records Certificate for Setting EPL Record

AFC Bournemouth winger Justin Kluivert has officially entered the record books after receiving a Guinness World Records (GWR) certificate for scoring the most penalties by a single player in an English Premier League match. The 26-year-old Dutchman, and son of football legend Patrick Kluivert, achieved the feat on November 30, 2024, when he netted three penalties in Bournemouth’s 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers during the 2024-2025 season.

Guinness World Records confirmed the honor in a Facebook post on Sunday, writing: “Congratulations to Justin Kluivert of AFC Bournemouth, who was recently presented with his certificate for the most penalties scored by a football (soccer) player in an English Premier League match.” The organization also highlighted the footballing legacy of the Kluivert family, noting that Patrick Kluivert became the youngest player to score in a UEFA Champions League final back in 1995. Justin’s record-breaking performance not only secured a crucial win for the Cherries but also etched his name into Premier League history.
