Last Week’s Best Dressed Stars Redefined Sultry Elegance

T

his past week, the red carpet proved to be the gift that keeps on giving. The 2023 Cannes Film Festival continued with celebrities, super models, and top influencers serving stellar looks in a grandioseness typical of them. Amidst the film celebration, stars took the responsibility to keep fashion alive, fanning the embers of style into an unquenchable blaze. Because all assignments were understood, the resulting ensembles were steamy haute, and every star shone in their element.

From the fashionistas who let the layers of luxe fabric do the talking to the sculptural silhouettes that framed numbers into masterpieces, last week brought fashion’s A game alive. We dare say that the offerings were so good, they almost seemed illegal.

The Looks

There’s no better way to rock stripes than the way Swedish-born Somali model Ikram Abdi Amar rocked a structured Nina Ricci ensemble at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. The look, which included a sequin ball dress, a wide-brim hat, and an elaborate floral neckpiece was a phenomenal balance between trendy and classic.

Sculpted contours were an unspoken theme last week, some wore them as garments while others became the monument. Beautypreneur Lori Harvey was the poster girl for the aforementioned category as she stunned in a red sultry Laquan Smith number to the Amfar Gala. The dress flaunted a vain belly cutout that revealed her chiseled abs and back. It’s clear that Ms. Harvey is always REDy to exude simple poise.

It seems like we’ve all been part of the Little Mermaid press tour and we have Halle Bailey‘s delightful looks to credit for this. Our brown-skin Ariel wore a blue Off-White silk dress to a recent Little Mermaid premiere that took place last week. The heavily studded sleeveless dress had a sheer train and ocean-inspired bodice that clearly said: “Under-the-sea fashion matters.” The whole tour has been nothing short of inspiring with a heavy dose of fashion. We’re ever rooting for this modern-day Princess.
