t’s about to get busy everyone! During the festive season, we all have a truckload of tasks to execute and plans for the celebrations. From meeting with families to hyper-charged activities, there are plenty of to-dos to go around. Unsurprisingly, this can take a toll on you. Therefore, as you enjoy this joyful chaos, you must remember to relax and take care of yourself and your health.

Here are some holiday wellness hacks that’ll be useful this season…

#1. Always get enough sleep

You might be tempted to spend the whole night talking and reconnecting with that relative you’ve not seen or spoken to for the entire year. But if you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t function properly during the day. Getting enough quality sleep allows you to have a stress-free day and more relaxing time with these relatives you’ve not seen in a while.

#2. Drink plenty of water

Instead of opting for alcohol and beer, choose water. Staying properly hydrated is much more important than booze. Don’t use the excuse of it being the festive season to cause yourself an unnecessary health risk. Hence, water remains the most beneficial drink to your health.

#3. Stick to your me time

The festive season doesn’t stop you from taking that time alone and concentrating on yourself and your well-being. Therefore, make some time, preferably in the morning hours, to perform your day’s rituals. Be it yoga, meditation, recording your gratitude journal, or anything you like to do on a normal day to take care of yourself and develop a peaceful state of mind.

#4. Do not abandon your skincare routine

It might be a bit difficult to travel some distance with your complete skincare kit so it’s advisable to prioritize the routine you can’t compromise on — cleansing, moisturizing, toning, and sunscreen protection. These products are all you need to maintain a healthy glow through the festivities.

#5. Don’t forget to exercise

You might not have the time for a full-body workout due to all the activities going on in the house, but you can make time to jog around the hood, do some skipping, or do any light exercise that can keep you pumped through the day.

#6. Set boundaries when necessary

Some of our relatives steadily overstep their boundaries, even when they mean well. Therefore, it’s necessary to learn how to set boundaries and stick to them. This is one of the sanity-saving holiday wellness hacks you should hold close to your chest. Refuse to be pressured, and learn to say “No”; it will do you a ton of good.

#7. Prioritize your health

If you have health risks, remember to stick to the things that help your health improve. Let your family know, and they’ll gladly assist to ensure your health is not compromised. Even if you’re without health risks, make your health your priority by avoiding engaging in things that could hurt you.

#8. Maintain a healthy diet

This is an offshoot of the previous point but with a focus on your food. Your diet should be rich and well-balanced. Sometimes when we feast, especially during the festivities, we forget to balance out meals with the required nutrients and instead opt for junk. Feast and celebrate with a well-rounded healthy meal filled with essential nutrients that will aid in your health.

#9. Take a social media break

At this time, posts about luxurious lifestyles are made, and you might feel a bit pressured or unaccomplished. Take a break from social media and learn to find happiness and contentment with the people you’re with. The decision of a social media detox allows you to connect more, bond, and value human relationships.

#10. Remember to have fun

What is Christmas without fun? Create memories, have fun, and document all of them. Life is too short to spend it being a bore, so make awesome memories during the festivities. Take a break from worrying about what the next day will hold, and just live in the moment and have fun while you’re at it.
