1. SZA to headline the 2024 Glastonbury Festival

SZA, Dua Lipa, and Coldplay are among the headliners at the 2024 Glastonbury music festival. The iconic British festival returns to Somerset’s Worthy Farm from June 26–30. Dua Lipa makes her Pyramid Stage debut as the festival’s Friday night headliner, on a bill also featuring Glastonbury veterans LCD Soundsystem and PJ Harvey.

Meanwhile, Coldplay will make its first Pyramid Stage appearance since 2016 on Saturday night, with it being the only European festival appearance of their current world tour. Sunday night will see the multiple Grammy and Brit award-winning hip-hop/R&B act SZA make her Glastonbury debut. She will follow sets from Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Janelle Monáe. The packed lineup also includes Cyndi Lauper, Aurora, Avril Lavigne, and Ayra Starr.

Tickets for this year’s festival are already sold out.

A post shared by Victoria and Albert Museum (@vamuseum)

Following the fascinating exploration of Coco Chanel’s life, London’s Victoria & Albert Museum has confirmed that its next headline exhibition will celebrate the life and career of one of the original ’90s supermodels: Naomi Campbell. Titled “Naomi: In Fashion,” the BOSS-sponsored event will tell the story of Campbell’s impressive four-decade-long career as one of the most famous models in history.

Produced in collaboration with Campbell and foregrounding her voice and perspective, the V&A has said that the exhibition will “draw upon Campbell’s own extensive wardrobe of haute couture and ready-to-wear ensembles from key moments in her career, along with loans from designer archives and objects from the V&A’s collections”. Highlights will include a dramatic 1989 Thierry Mugler car-inspired corset, Campbell’s look from Sarah Burton’s last Alexander McQueen show, a pink Valentino ensemble worn at the 2019 Met Gala, and that famous pair of staggeringly high Vivienne Westwood platform shoes worn by Campbell during her now-iconic 1993 catwalk fall.

The exhibit opens on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Tickets will sell for £16.00.

3. Meghan Markle is back on Instagram after five years with new business

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has returned to Instagram. On Thursday, March 14, a Sussex spokesperson confirmed that Meghan returned to the platform with the Instagram handle “American Riviera Orchard.” The new account already has several posts on its grid to reveal a larger image of a logo of what appears to be a new project.

A video set to Nancy Wilson’s song, “I Wish You Love,” was also shared on the account’s Instagram story of Meghan arranging flowers, baking in a rustic kitchen, and hanging out in a home in a black dress. Also in the description of the profile page are the words, “by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex” and a link to the website americanriviera.com, but it does not include any information about what this new project for the duchess will be about.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, previously launched their own Instagram account in 2019 under the username @sussexroyal. However, when they stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020, they stopped using the account.

4. SpaceX launches the world’s most powerful rocket ever built into space

SpaceX’s Starship mega-rocket, the world’s largest and most powerful rocket, reached orbital speed for the first time on Thursday, March 14, in a historic third test flight from South Texas.

Hundreds of Spring Break spectators, rocket launch chasers, and SpaceX fans gathered along the southern shores of South Padre Island and surrounding areas to witness the third test flight of the biggest rocket ever built. About 5 miles (8 kilometers) south of the crowds, SpaceX’s massive Starship vehicle lifted off at 9:25 a.m. EDT (1325 GMT) from the company’s manufacturing and test launch facilities near Boca Chica Beach.

“Starship reached orbital velocity,” SpaceX founder Elon Musk announced on X (formerly Twitter) after liftoff. “Congratulations SpaceX team!!” The launch occurred on the 22nd anniversary of SpaceX’s founding in 2002, the company said.

5. Mohamed Salah makes Liverpool’s history

Mohamed Salah made history—the first player in Liverpool’s history to score 20+ goals in all competitions for seven consecutive seasons — as Jurgen Klopp’s side hammered Sparta Prague 6-1 on Thursday to storm into the Europa League quarterfinals 11-2 on aggregate. After winning 5-1 in the opening leg of their round-of-16 tie in Prague, Liverpool scored four in the opening 14 minutes at Anfield as Sparta had no answer to the home side’s high pressure.

Jurgen Klopp greeted news of the Egyptian’s 20th with a metaphorical shrug. “The stat is not really surprising, because he is an outstanding player,” he said. Yet 20 is still a historic first. No one else had reached the milestone in seven successive seasons for Liverpool. “Mo is just delivering and delivering and delivering, his desire doesn’t stop, his quality is there and his desire to score doesn’t stop,” added Klopp. “He has improved in so many aspects since he started here. That’s how it is, he will not stop.”
