1. Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive for coronavirus
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is self-isolating in Downing Street. He said he had experienced mild symptoms over the past 24 hours, including a rise in temperature and cough, but would continue to lead the government. Boris Johnson is thought to be the first world leader to announce he has coronavirus.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said he had also tested positive while England’s Chief Medical Officer, Prof Chris Whitty, has shown symptoms. Another 181 people died with the virus in the past day, figures showed. It takes the total number of UK deaths to 759, with 14,579 confirmed cases.
2. Nigerian students stranded at Seme border –Lagos
Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said many Nigerians are trying to come into the country via the land borders since the closure of the airways.
Abayomi, at a briefing on Friday, said 16 Nigerian students are currently at the Seme border where they have been stopped from entering Nigeria.
3. Naija Info poaches Daddy Freeze
Nigeria Info has proudly announced the newest addition to its award-winning station. Veteran and multiple award-winning media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as ‘Daddy Freeze‘, as he joins the Nigeria Info team of exceptional broadcasters.

4. Tanzanian couple arrested for ‘calling virus a hoax’
Police in Tanzania’s commercial capital Dar es Salaam are holding a couple for allegedly spreading false information about coronavirus. Dar es Salaam’s police chief Lazaro Mambosasa said that the husband and wife ridiculed the government while they were on public transport last week. He said that the couple were misleading the public.
According to the police chief, after hearing those comments, fellow passengers were upset and directed the bus driver to drive towards the nearest police station where they handed over the couple to the police.
5. Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi ‘fully recovered’ from coronavirus
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has fully recovered from coronavirus, says Blues manager Frank Lampard. The England international, 19, became the first Premier League player to test positive for Covid-19 earlier this month.
“I spoke to him throughout that first week when he first got the illness and it was a strange time,” Lampard said. “Thankfully he didn’t suffer too much and we are happy he’s come through this.”
Chelsea were fourth in the Premier League when elite football in Britain was suspended on 13 March.
