1. Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, killed after hit-and-run collision

The 64-year-old father of the rapper Nicki Minaj has died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in New York, the police reported. Robert Maraj was walking along a road in Mineola on Long Island at 6.15 pm on Friday when he was hit by a car that kept going, Nassau County police reported.

Maraj was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday. Police are asking any witnesses to the fatal crash to come forward. Nicki Minaj has not made any public statement about her father’s death.

2. Nigeria: Fireboy makes appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

On February 13, 2021, Nigerian star, Fireboy performed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and performed the opening track from his critically-acclaimed album, “Apollo.” The song features American rapper, D Smoke who recently visited Nigeria and hung out with esteemed Nigerians like Don Jazzy, LadiPoe and more.

During the performance, he stood on an elevated platform, as he sang away while being supported by a live band and backup dancers. He also performed the fan-favorite, “Vibration” from his groundbreaking debut, “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps.”

Social media sensation and content creator Mihlali Ndamase has set the internet on fire with her Valentine’s Day photoshoot. Taking to her social media on Sunday, the beauty and lifestyle influencer shared sultry snaps of herself in seductive red lingerie.

In the photographs, the YouTube star showcased different sultry looks, which were well received by fans. Ndamase also sported red hair to complete her Valentine’s Day glam. In the photos, she is seen lying in bed surrounded by red roses and balloons. “Happy Valentine’s Day loves ❣️,” she captioned.

4. Ghana: Ken Ofori-Atta in the USA for post-COVID-19 treatment

The Minister-designate for Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta has traveled to the United States of America for treatment following complications after recovering from COVID-19. Mr. Ofori-Atta is said to have recovered from the Coronavirus disease last December but has since had some medical complications.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, February 14, 2021, said following the advice of doctors, the Minister-designate for Finance traveled to the USA for further interventions, which were currently not available in Ghana. He is expected to be away for two weeks.

5. Inter Milan star Lukaku hits 300 career goals

Romelu Lukaku has further cemented his place among the modern European greats after notching up a career haul of 300 goals, hitting the triple-century mark with a brace for Inter on Sunday. The Belgium striker has rediscovered his most prolific form since swapping Manchester for Milan and becoming the latest player to join an exclusive club after nabbing a double in his side’s Serie A 3-1 win over Lazio.

The 27-year-old converted from the penalty spot midway through the first half at San Siro to go one shy of the milestone mark, before bringing up the magic number with a close-range finish on the stroke of the interval. He later grabbed an assist as Inter went top of the table.
