he first week of 2024 came with a high dose of glam that activated celebs for a major beauty showdown. On one hand, Fantasia Taylor played our heart’s strings with an understated look for the Golden Globes Awards. On the other, Teyana Taylor made a case for a fresh latte take that we couldn’t resist as she sizzled for the Book of Clarence movie premiere. The result is that we were transfixed at every turn as the ladies ushered in the new year with a sweet lineup of beauty offerings.

Makeup
Kicking off the year shimmering in gold could be a sign of mega-money moves. Or at least, that’s the vibe we get from Taraji P. Henson. The actress ushered in the Golden Globes weekend in a proper look consisting of smokey eyes enlivened with gold eyeshadow that matched her outfit. Her prominent brows, warm cheeks, and blush lipstick added to the appeal of the offering making it one of the best New Year makeup looks we saw last week.
One thing we love about Beyoncé is her willingness to experiment in the beauty department. One moment, she goes the subtle route with barely-there makeup, and the next, she’s catching a cruise in a colorful glam. The latter was the case last week when she was spotted with hubby, Jay-Z, causing a storm at LeBron James‘ Studio 84-themed birthday party. For the event, the megastar opted for full glam with shimmering eyes and a fierce red pout that hit hard.
Hair
When Queen Bey went platinum toward the end of 2023, we knew it was only a matter of time before we began to see the hue everywhere. And it’s happening! Last week, Megan thee Stallion debuted her new platinum wavy hairdo that sent shockwaves across the industry. We totally dig it.
