Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is currently in Nigeria filming her latest project “Americanah,” a movie adaption of renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie’s book. Lupita was hosted to a birthday bash as she turned 37 on March 1st and trust Nigerian celebrities to show her how to party the Naija way.
Celebrities like D’banj, Teni and Ebuka, along with popular faces like Schick Magazine’s Simi Esiri, body artist Laolu and many others were on hand to celebrate with the star girl. Lupita’s host, Chimamanda Adichie was also in attendance and I have to add it was good to see Chimamanda in a laid back mood – she’s human after all!
The Mexican-born Kenyan actress wore a colourful print mini dress with leaf motifs and a ruffled collar. The dress was the perfect exotic complement to her braided bang hairstyle, which came complete with golden adornment on each braid of the bang.
In true contemporary culture, Lupita took to Instagram to share some snaps from her birthday celebration. She captioned her post:
“IT’S MY BIRTHDAY AND I WILL PARTY IF I WANT TO! #NAIJALIFE”
