Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, apologized in Hebrew to the Jewish community for his “unplanned” antisemitic “outburst” earlier this month. Ye posted the apology to his Instagram page early Tuesday morning. “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for my unplanned outburst caused by my words or actions, it was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” he said in a statement written in Hebrew.

“I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future,” the post continued. The rapper, 46, ended the post by saying that forgiveness “is important to me” and that he was “committed to making amends and promoting unity.” His apology comes weeks after videos showed Ye giving an expletive-laden rant about Hitler, Jesus, and Donald Trump’s legal troubles to a room full of people.

4. Asake pays tribute to late rapper Mohbad at his Lagos concert

In an expected turn of events, award-winning singer and performer, Asake honored the late rapper, Mohbad at his concert in Lagos on Monday, December 25. Asake at his concert had a mural of Mohbad on the wall, and it was hard to miss for fans who had attended the sold-out show.

This, however, was not the only way Mr. Money eulogized Mohbad on the night; the singer also had a video that symbolized the deceased’s impact as an artist, highlighting that the music industry wouldn’t forget him even in death. Asake, on the day the passing of Mohbad was announced, took to his social media platform to mourn his loss alongside other celebrities.

5. Jurgen Klopp sets all-time Premier League record after leading Liverpool to victory over Burnley

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has set a Premier League record following his side’s Boxing Day victory over Burnley. Goals in both halves from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota sent Liverpool to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Burnley. As a result, according to reports, Klopp is now six for six on Boxing Day fixtures—the outright most by a manager with a 100 percent win rate on the day in the Premier League’s history.

After two straight draws with Manchester United and Arsenal at home, Liverpool returned to winning ways with the victory at Turf Moor. They are two points ahead of the second-placed Gunners, although Mikel Arteta’s men could leapfrog the Reds if they beat West Ham on December 28. Liverpool have played their last match of 2023 but will kick-off 2024 with a home clash against out-of-form Newcastle United on January 1, whereas lowly Burnley round off their year away to high-flying Aston Villa on December 31.
