Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor, Falz The Bahd Guy has added one more feat to his array of feats with the unveiling of his film production company, House21TV. To kick off operations of his production company, Falz took to Instagram to unveil an all-new comedy series, Therapy, to air exclusively on YouTube. 

Episode one which premiered August 7, 2020 stars Toke Makinwa, Josh2funny, Bovi, and Falz. It follows the story of a dysfunctional couple who attempt to resolve their marital disputes.

2. Ghana: Schools not reopening in September — Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education says there are no immediate plans to reopen schools from next month for full academic activities. Consequently, it has called on the public to ignore reports to that effect.

Speaking at the National Inspectorate Board (NIB) School Establishment and Inspection Policy (SEaIP) Validation Workshop, Mr. Benjamin Gyasi said that the report was a rumor and not the position of the ministry, adding, “When we get to the bridge we will cross it but we are not there yet. Once we get there, there will be a presidential directive after which the ministry will make the arrangements. But it is not true that we are going to school in September 2020.”

3. South Africa: IFP founder Mangosuthu Buthelezi tests positive for COVID-19

Founder and President of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Mangosuthu Buthelezi, 91, has tested positive for COVID-19. Buthelezi’s family issued a statement on Saturday, August 8 saying that he is currently in self-isolation for the mandatory period.

Earlier last week, Buthelezi was informed that he came into contact with a positive case. He thus took the precautionary measure of being tested despite displaying no symptoms. The Buthelezi family said it is aware that many families have journeyed this road of infection and the overwhelming majority have emerged to full recovery.

4. Massive Baltimore explosion destroys several houses, killing at least 1 and trapping 5 others

A massive gas line explosion rocked a neighborhood of northwest Baltimore on Monday morning, killing at least one person, officials said. The blast — near Labyrinth and Reisterstown Roads — killed at least one woman and sent two people to nearby hospitals, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

Multiple homes appeared to be wiped out in the explosion, as firefighters frantically sifted through rubble to look for more possible victims.

5. Juventus appoint Andrea Pirlo to replace Maurizio Sarri

Juventus have appointed Andrea Pirlo as the manager to replace the sacked Maurizio Sarri, a week after hiring the former midfielder as Under-23 boss. The Italian giants sacked Sarri after just one season despite winning Serie A following the club’s Champions League last-16 defeat by Lyon on Friday.

Pirlo, 41, has signed a two-year deal until June 2022. The former Italy midfielder was only named the club’s Under-23 manager on July 30. Juventus said the decision to promote him is “based on the belief that Pirlo has what it takes to lead from his debut on the bench, an expert and talented squad to pursue new success.”
