As we embrace the weekend, may our dreams come true like Johnny Drille’s dreams came through when he recently met his mentor, the American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer, Jon Bellion in Nashville, Tennessee. Jon has also decided to add Nigeria to his tour dates if and only if Johnny Drille opens the show for him. We are so looking forward to the duo collaborating!
In our musical lineup for the weekend, D’Banj tries to convince us that he is so shy with his latest single dubbed Shy. Barely a few hours after he released the audio, D’Banj who recently went on a Baecation released a video where he takes things back to the East as he sings in Igbo as well.
In the video, D’banj flaunts his typical street style looks in a number of stylish garbs, complete with his signature dark sunglasses. The video sees its male characters clad in traditional Igbo attires including attires made from the popular Isi Agu fabric, complete with the traditional red cap and coral beads.
The Shy video also features dancers in animal prints and stunning ladies in Ankara costumes as they looked every inch owambe ready. Do you believe that D’Banj is shy?
Here are 5 of the trending new songs in Nigeria…
1. D’Banj – Shy
D’Banj wants us to believe that he is a shy guy. The irony of this is that the song’s lyrics focus on the beauty and sweetness of a woman’s boobs and wealth. While the lyrics are naughty, the beat is sure to make you leave your seat and move. One thing we all agree on is that “Ferarri no be keke.”
2. Naira Marley – Soapy
With the release of Soapy by Naira Marley, Marlians are all anticipating new dance moves. After his arrest by EFCC, Naira Marley became even more popular and he takes advantage of that experience in this danceable tune.
3. Magnito Ft. Falz – If To Say I Be Girl Ehn
Tension Gang talented act, Magnito is out with a brand new single which he titled If To Say I Be Girl Ehn. This time, he collaborates with the president of the Sweet Boys Association, Falz as they sing about all the things they would do if they were a girl. This is off the stereotypes the society expects girls to conform to.
4. Asa – Good Thing
Asa is definitely in a league of her own and she proves this every time she releases a new track. She sings about how she is too fly for those who don’t take her seriously as she also reiterates the fact that you never know a good thing until you lose a good thing.
5. Ladipoe Ft. Crayon – Based On Kpa
Mavin’s wordsmith and cool rapper Ladipoe teams up with new record label mate Crayon on this track titled Kpa. This is a song about ladies and money – surprise! In this single, the two believe that a lady will answer you and dance to your tune so far money – Kpa – is involved. Stereotypical much?
