If there’s one thing Black women continue to make clear, it is the multiplicity of melanin. Proving this, last week’s best beauty looks showed the diversity of black beauty and the power of individuality. Black beauties 2021.

Hair

Fierce, free and captivating! These are words that describe the array of beautiful curls which sparked up our Instagram feeds last week. From American singer and actress Kat Graham’s face-framing look to YouTuber and beauty influencer Alissa Ashley’s dainty top bun, hairstyles definitely stole the show last week. Not only did the natural texture-inspired shots relay empowering vibes, they also hit the mark on fab hour!

Equally upholding the au naturel bandwagon of hairstyles, South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha and Nigerian-American TikTok comedian Grace Amaku locked down our gaze with stunning locs. Nomzamo’s cowrie adorned hairdo was simply striking, while Grace’s waist-length take on the hair trend was too goddess-like to not revere.

Makeup

On the other side of all things glam and gorgeous, pastel lids had their moment on the makeup scene and we couldn’t get enough! Starting off with a bang, Nigerian songbird Ayra Starr was a sight to behold as she rocked bright contrasting shades of pink eye shadow. Joining in on the colorful eye makeup trend, Jamaican-British rapper Stefflon Don put the I in icy with baby blue lids.

Shaking the beauty scene up with a sophisticated and alluring look, Temi Otedola’s floating eyeliner and silver eye shadow combo was a hit! It’s safe to say her eyes did all the talking, as she shared several cool shots to celebrate her 25th birthday. Overall, Temi certainly nailed the old Hollywood diva beauty look to a tee with the kind of contemporary twist we love to see.

Even more exciting, we’ve got you covered with more exquisite beauty looks.
