Just before the Oscars air on Sunday, February 24, celebrities stepped out for the 12th annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards. This yearly event, a celebration of black actresses never disappoints.
The host of the event, Kelly Rowland was simply beautiful in a contemporary cream pantsuit adorned with colourful pom poms, but that was just one of her many stunning looks for the night.
This year’s honorees included Regina Hall, KiKi Layne, Amandla Stenberg, and Jenifer Lewis. Most notable among them was Amandla Stenberg who gave such a powerful speech that moved the crowd and earned her a standing ovation.
The event was not all awards and talk as celebrities including Nigerian-American actress and comedienne Yvonne Orji were seen bursting moves in the ESSENCE slow-mo video booth.
The grey carpet was alive with different shades of slayage – from blue toned outfits to neon shades, hot pinks and ocean hues, just to name a few. From Angela Bassett to Meagan Good we’ve selected the looks that gave us inspo for days!
