When life gives you lemons, what do you do? I say you make a very chilled glass of lemonade because ‘mans can never be hot’! Sugar, water, lemon juice – voila! Well… not really that easy because if you just stir all of these together the sugar will sink to the bottom. So just how do you make a franchise-worthy lemonade?
Well, the best way to make the perfect lemonade is to first make a simple syrup by heating water and sugar together until the sugar is completely dissolved, and then mix that with the lemon juice. To make about one and a half litres of fizz free lemonade, you need just a few ingredients. This is perfect for when you’re having guests over or you could just save some for future consumption!
Let’s dig in…
- 3 large lemons
- 130g granulated sugar
- 8 cups of water
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Ice cubes
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water.
- Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar.
- Allow to cool to room temperature.
- Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
- Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp.
- In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.
Voila! Your lemonade is ready!
