Not Every time Dodo or Bole! 8 Alternative Plantain Meals To Upgrade Your Chef Game | SR Living

Plantain is one food I love passionately, especially when very ripe. In its ripe form, I can eat it raw, boiled, grilled or fried. So deep is my love for plantains that I can indulge in it for breakfast, lunch and dinner without ever getting tired. I know for sure that many Nigerians and Africans, as a whole, share this love for plantains. As a versatile meal, there are so many traditional ways to prepare plantain. When fried (dodo), it is used as a side dish and when boiled, it can be eaten with stew or any choice sauce.

Despite the fact that it is one food item you can rarely be bored with in the kitchen, when you repeat the same thing over and over again, boredom is bound to creep in and that’s exactly what led me on a journey to search for other ways I can enjoy my plantain.

The search led me to a discover a bunch of creative ways plantains could be served. Ways that I would never have imagined…Thanks internet! I have curated images of these meals without the whole process of making them. You can simply search the meal name to find the recipe or visit mycolombianrecipes.com.
