A woman who knows that she can; this sentence describes Somali-American born model Halima Aden who is the first hijab-wearing high fashion model on runways in both Milan and New-York. The nineteen-year-old who was born in a refugee camp in Kenya is full of life and happiness as she takes on the world. Halima, who’s signed to IMG models always knew she was born to stand out and that’s exactly what she’s doing as she believes in expressing one’s individuality.
Being young hasn’t stopped her from breaking all the rules. She previously broke her high school’s history and became the first Muslim homecoming queen. The power of her success comes from her self-assurance in expressing her femininity and beauty without compromising her faith.
