The White House days of President Barrack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are drawing to an official end after the conclusion of Obama’s tenure in office come January 2017. We can all agree that America’s most eloquent first family will be greatly missed. While their official and governing deeds have been pretty remarkable, their interesting social life and unconventional lifestyle (for first citizens) is something the whole world has come to reckon with and truly love.
From Obama’s epic ‘drops mic’ performances to Michelle’s quintessential style, everything about America’s 1st black first family have left their lovers more in love with them and converted even some of their worst detractors over the years.
While Michelle Obama will be remembered for many of her noble causes, she will most fondly be remembered for her amazing sense of style. Why? Well, simply because a first lady as a style icon amidst juggling the affairs of the country is really laudable.
Arguably, the most stylish first lady in the history of the United States, Michelle grabbed every opportunity to serve phenomenal style, supporting upcoming designers from the US and outside while at it. And though she showed love to more than a few budding designers including Nigeria’s Maki Oh, she’s also been clad in some of the best names in fashion. Names such as Vera Wang, Alexander Mcqueen, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and many others. She was a delight to the paparazzi, designers, fashion bloggers, magazines and the style world, at large.
The impression left by her intriguing style will forever remain in our hearts. So it’s only right that as she packs up her wardrobe and gets ready to head out of the White House we take a moment to look back at the many times she simply wowed us and left us with #stylegoals for days.
