There is always a good haul of beauty inspiration to steal from the 2018 Met Gala. This year’s theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” brought a lot of creative makeup and hairstyles with some halo hair accessories to go with the statement dresses only the Met Gala could invite. While we thought this would mean rosaries, veils and other religious symbols, we had no clue how this would be translated to beauty looks, after all no one knows if makeup is allowed in heaven.
The 2018 Met Gala red carpet was flooded with stunning hair looks like tall up-dos adorned with fancy headpieces involving crowns, jewels and other daring details. Some of our favourite celebrities chose the gothic look while others played it safe, going the subtle glam route. In all, each celebrity tried in their own way to stand out on the red carpet. While the Met Gala is now three days gone, we definitely would not be forgetting this year’s slay so soon.
