A Guide To Looking Good In Colours Other Than Red This Valentine | Lookbook

Since the induction of St. Valentine’s day, the colour red has been tagged to it and everything about the special day, from decor to outfits to gift wraps to literally everything that proves you are in tune with the day of love.

If you live in Nigeria or are conversant with these unique set of people, you’ll agree with me that Nigerians can go a bit (if not totally) overboard with the red theme. So to help you stand out, wow your date and note be so cliché, we have curated a colour guide to help you look fab and in tune with the occasion without necessarily painting yourself and the whole town red!

White

Asides being one of the popular colours of the day, white is as unique the color as black. Its simplicity not only makes one look divine, it also screams class.

Burgundy

For those who still wanna play safe, ditch your red outfit for a burgundy one and stand out in the restaurant or wherever you’re going for your date.

Black

Have you ever heard the saying ‘you can never go wrong with a little black dress’? That is the case here. Trust a black dress to always save the day, all day, everyday!

Hot Pink

Fondly tagged as a lady’s colour, a hot pink dress is just as lovely and romantic a colour as red. So ditch the red outfits and go pink and feminine.

Orange

Orange is another sexy colour to consider. Asides its earthy and warm feel, orange also represents sexuality and enjoyment, two attributes needed for an amazing time out and whatever comes afterwards. *wink! wink!*

So which of these colours are you willing to ditch red for?
