The Estée Lauder Companies have named South Sudanese-Australian supermodel Adut Akech as its newest global brand ambassador. The supermodel will appear in flagship brand Estée Lauder’s makeup and skincare campaigns across digital, in-store, TV, and print, with her first campaign to be revealed in July.
“Adut is one of fashion’s biggest and most influential stars,” said The Estee Lauder Companies President and Estée Lauder and Aerin Global Brand President Stéphane de La Faverie. “We believe her incredible story, personality and beauty will help us continue to inspire and connect with our consumers and establish her as a beauty icon of her generation.”

Akech is one of fashion’s highly-rated supermodels and was awarded Model of the Year at the 2019 The Fashion Awards. She was also included on the TIME 100 Next List in the same year.
The 21-year-old spent her early days as a refugee in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Adut and her family eventually emigrated to Adelaide, Australia, where she eventually joined a local modeling agency as a student.
She has appeared in campaigns for Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Versace, and Chanel and regularly appears on fashion magazine covers.
Outside of her fashion career, Adut recently began working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to promote causes that support refugees worldwide. She hopes that her own story can serve as an inspiration for many to become more invested in alleviating the plight of refugees.
