The British Fashion Awards, which was rebranded to the Fashion Awards in 2016 – celebrates the best of creativity and innovation in fashion, recognising exceptional individuals, brands and businesses across the globe. For 2019, the Fashion Awards, organized by the British Fashion Council (BFC), partnered with Swarovski yet again for a night of celebrating fashion’s best on Monday, 2nd December, at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
According to their website:
“The BFC is a not-for-profit organisation, whose aim is to support sustainable growth for the sector, with wide-ranging activities which include charitable initiatives that support educational programmes and scholarships through to financial and mentoring awards for emerging talent.”
The 2019 Awards which saw Bottega Vaneta take home Brand of the Year and Adut Akech crowned Model of the Year, had Rihanna’s Fenty take home the Urban Luxe award of the year. This award celebrates the innovation and influence of a brand that has redefined new luxe and brought fashion into the cultural conversation.
Naomi Campbell copped the Fashion Icon Award which is a special recognition award that celebrates outstanding contributions to the fashion industry.
As with every A-list red carpet event, it was a super stylish affair. The host, Tracee Ellis Ross, graced the red carpet in a Loewe white handkerchief dress from Jonathan Anderson’s spring/summer 2020 collection before proceeding to nail four more looks during the course of the show.
