Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Vibrated In Seriously Modish Takes

ometimes the pandemonium on the fashion streets can yield positive outcomes. The steady lineup of glamorous events consequently results in Black celebs and influencers keeping their stylists on speed dial, the red carpets glistening with elegant ensembles, and our pupils dilating in admiration. Although last week hit the brakes on the buzz of activities compared to the weeks prior, Black celebs across the globe still stepped out in captivating takes that weren’t out of the sartorial character we’ve come to expect. It seems there may have even been a common code of style: go fierce or go home!

The looks

Earlier in the week, singer Kelly Rowland hinted at her visit to South Africa on social media. One of the stunning looks she showcased in a location that appeared to be a restaurant was a golden Patbo frill-detailed frock with body-accentuating features. It almost looks like she had a date with destiny.

Over in the United States, Gabrielle Union headed out on legs day (we’ve got jokes) in a Sportmax mini dress for the They Call Me Magic movie premiere, and it’s already customary for her to pass the style test in flying colors. The actress was further decked in Bulgari accessories which complemented the minimal-chic appearance.

A carefully crafted luxury black dress is always befitting for a Queen. Nigerian actress Sharon Ooja was all shades of regal in a Black Matopeda Atelier number as she attended a birthday event. Her neat updo allowed the frock a moment to be in the spotlight, and the not-so-little black dress made no hesitation to shine through. The frills at the hem of the garment, the fancy cutout at the top, and the bejeweled detailing remained all the actress needed to stand tall and confident.

The styles shared by Black celebrities and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous, and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them.

Check out last week’s best fashion moments as seen on Black influencers and celebs around the world...
