Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Had Us Gushing

In the words of the impeccable Janelle Monáe, “Beauty is about embracing what you have, let yourself shine through.” Affirming this in powerful ways, black women continue to show up and show out on an effortless streak. Whether it’s hairstyles that embody their unique personalities or face beats that simply take our breath away, Black beauties stay winning. And if you need some convincing, the best beauty looks from last week will have you gushing!

Hair

Starting things off on a simple and artsy note, Gabrielle Union-Wade’s fringe baby hair updo served us a full-on fab moment and it was oh-so-elegant. The Hollywood star’s top bun was as youthful as it was modish. Also staying on trend but with a blunt bob this season, Nigerian actress Kehinde Bankole was the personification of a “flawless” boss babe.

On the braided side of things, Eritrean beauty and lifestyle content creator Rahel Brhane was a sight to behold in a honey gold-highlighted jumbo box braids with sleek baby hairs. So cool and regal was the look, she hit the mark on innovative hairstyle! Serving even more African goddess vibes, Nigerian singer-songwriter Waje looked simply amazing in Bantu knots. From the red colored extensions interwoven with her natural hair to her captivating smile, it’s impossible not to fall in love with her look.

Makeup

Serving full glam on the makeup scene, Tamar Braxton’s smokey eye and gold cut crease combo was an enchanting hit last week. The American singer and former reality TV personality looked ravishing. Equally gleaming up the makeup train but in au naturel fashion, a pregnant Christiana Milian came through with a flawless glow. Her “no makeup” makeup look was definitely a 10 out of 10 in our books.

If there’s one bombshell that is consistent in relaying creative audacity, it’s Vanessa Gyimah. The Ghanaian beauty influencer and pro makeup artist redefined the richness of nude tones with an electrifying play on shades around her eyes. Setting the bar for black girl magic à la beauty, Paris-based Congolese model Olomide Didi-Stone upheld her absolute stunner status. The luxury influencer’s soft natural face beat spoke volumes and we heard her loud and clear all the way from Dubai.

To keep you updated and inspired, we’ve got you covered with more beauty looks to revere.
