genie sliding out of a bottle is usually met with top level anticipation. The same goes for our favorite Black stars when they step out for events in gorgeous pieces. Last week’s line of events saw Black celebs and stars focused on perfect ensembles with thigh high slits, exaggerated sleeves, shimmers and elevated casual fits that once again left us pleased.
The looks
Iconic supermodel, Naomi Campbell seemed to have an all round productive week as she collaborated with Fashion Trust Arabia in the city of Doha, Qatar. As expected, her outfit selection for each event spoke volumes with interesting details and an unrelenting aura, the kind typical of the Queen. Nonetheless, the white hooded Maison Valentino abaya she embodied for the opening of the Christian Dior: Exhibition of Dreams stood out for us. The dress lit up with silver studded details and per usual, she carried herself accordingly.
When Gucci organizes an event, the fashion birds come perching. Last week was the Gucci Love Parade and actress Tracee Ellis Ross represented the “Gucci Geng” in a color block-themed look. She was spotted in a high-waisted skirt and embellished crop top fit by the brand. Surely, a full-on hit ensemble if we ever saw one.
South African media girl, Thulisile Phongolo opted for an icy blue Willet Designs Couture statement dress for the Remi Martin SA “Team up for Excellence” dinner. Stunning was the case in this high-slit number with exaggerated sleeves as the star owned the look. It fit perfectly almost like her second skin.
The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
