The 2019 award season just kicked off with The Golden Globes which marks the 76th Golden Globe Awards. This is the first major celebrity red carpet event of the year and this award brings together the stars of the big and small screens in a ceremony known as an augury for the Oscars.
Last year’s Golden Globes Award took more of a subtle tone, with an all-black dress code in recognition of years of sexual assault and gender inequality in Hollywood, as well as the Me Too and Time’s Up movements. But this year, the Golden Globes beauty looks were decidedly more colourful as stars embraced some of the biggest beauty trends from the runway and adapted them for the red carpet.
Stars like Taraji P. Henson, Camilla Belle and Janelle Monae stepped out in classic and glamorous beauty looks, while Thandie Newton spiced things up with her natural curls. Lupita Nyong’o experimented with cobalt blue liner and mascara and Lady Gaga stole the show with her crystal blue hair.
