Many don’t know the importance of appreciation in a relationship. As a matter of fact, it could be one of the most effective ways to revive your union. Next time your partner does something thoughtful for you (or the kids), take the time to say thank you and mean it. You see, someone who knows they’re loved and appreciated somewhere will always hang around. Plus, it makes them do even more thoughtful things.

#2. Celebrate your partner

The thing about humans is that we like to feel special. Your partner is no exception. Be intentional about celebrating your partner at every chance you get. Common occasions like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, and even Christmas are good times to do this. But it doesn’t have to end there. When your boo accomplishes a feat, whether at work or in life in general, you can seize the occasion to celebrate them. The good thing is that this doesn’t have to cost a ton of money as a simple gift will suffice.

#3. Talk to each other

It’s funny how something as basic as talking can become such a chore. We get so
engrossed in work and kids and ignore the same person whose call used to give us butterflies in the stomach. We have to admit that life could get pretty hectic and that’s why having a talk with your partner should be a deliberate effort. Remember that hilarious thing you saw today? Now’s the right time to share it.

#4. Just do it

Who would have thought you’d go weeks or even months without going under the sheets with your partner? Considering how you couldn’t get your hands off each other at the initial stage. Life and its unpredictability. Nevertheless, as Nike would suggest: “just do it.” Because if you’re waiting to feel an intense form of desire before you have sex with your partner, it just might not happen. Sex plays a major role in reviving your relationship.

#5. Say the magic word

For couples who have known each other for a while, the emotions of your partner tend to become everyday occurrences, but this doesn’t help. Skipping little things like a plain old I love you would only make your partner feel unappreciated. So, don’t take this a day further, and remember to tell your partner all he/she means to you. It can really work magic.

#6. Listen to each other

If you have to become dumbo, by all means. Ensure you’re all ears for your partner as it’s almost impossible to understand a person if you don’t listen to them. We know you’re fagged out, but let her finish her story about how her day went or listen to his point of view. This is key in communication.

#7. Consciously create “couple time”

Back in the day you both used to love hanging out by the seaside, what on earth happened to that? How about consciously trying out something new every now and then? That new recreational center, restaurant, or karaoke bar where you can both sing yourself silly are great places to explore.

A wise man once said, “Everything positive you do in your relationship is foreplay.” Keep putting in the work. Love conquers all things.
