5 Eyebrow Grooming Mistakes You Probably Don’t Know You’re Making

If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the eyebrows are its drapes. Everyone knows the importance of good drapes, curtains or blinds and how just one bad drape could mess up the entire room. Same applies to eyebrows which is why eyebrow grooming is pertinent to achieving a flawless face beat.
In the quest for the perfect eyebrows, some of us have gotten sidetracked by detours that are “so-called” trends and beauty fads and since lost our way, so this piece highlighting common eyebrow grooming mistakes is just a little way of getting you back on course again. This time guys, please promise me you’ll keep you’re eyes on the price.
Plucking, Waxing, Shaping or Threading During your Period
Ever wondered why sometimes either of these grooming techniques could result to painful experiences? Well that could be because you are doing them on your period or while ovulating. Most women are more sensitive during that time of the month, so it’s best hold off on grooming until after to avoid an extra-painful hair-removal session.
Over Plucking
Routinely tweezing the eyebrows (like, everyday!) leads to some serious over plucking and eventual balding of your brows. It is advised that you shape your brows every one to two weeks, depending on your rate of hair growth. Allowing your hair to grow in a bit gives you more to work with and by so doing stops it from going too thin.
Using the Wrong Colour Brow Pencil

It irks me when I see women with extremely dark or red eyebrows, I constantly have to remind myself what year we’re in 2016 and not the 90s. Always make sure to buy a brow pencil that’s at most a shade or two lighter than your real hair color because It looks more natural and less harsh that way unless your aim is to look like a circus clown.
Extra Bold Brows
With the number of memes made in regards to this subject, you would think extra bold brow would be a thing of the past but NAY. When drawing your eyebrows, work like an artist and trace in light gentle strokes as opposed to shade in deep heavy-handed strokes. Also, sharpening your eyebrow pencil will help lighten the strokes.
Obsessive-Compulsive Identical Brows Disorder
I picked up this quote from a makeup artist during a shoot; she said “your eyebrows should be sisters and not twins”. In essence, all that time we spend obsessing about the perfect identical brows is just a waste of time instead all that’s expected of you is to shape your brows in a way that ensures they start and end at generally the same points. Your face isn’t perfectly symmetrical, so honey don’t obsess about brow symmetry.
