Acne is one of the most common skin problems that can plague individuals from teenage years well into adulthood. It develops when oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria clog pores. The protein in egg whites can help kill the bacteria on the skin, which may result in fewer blemishes. To create a potent face mask for acne, you’ll need two to three egg whites. Simply put the egg whites into a clean bowl and dip cotton wool or swab in it. Next, dab the egg whites over your face and allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off. Follow this with a good moisturizer to keep your skin supple.

#2. Anti-aging DIY face mask

If you begin to notice the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on your face, fret not. There’s a homemade face mask to tackle this, resulting in tighter, firmer skin. For this, you will need avocados and cocoa powder which stimulate collagen production, and honey that moisturizes and softens the skin. To create, mash two avocados in a bowl and add one tbsp. of raw honey, as well as two tbsp. of cocoa powder. Gently massage the mixture over your face and allow it to sit for 20 minutes before washing it off with warm water. Do this twice a week for the best results.

Dry skin remedies usually involve heavy moisturizing that makes your skin soft and nourished. And as such, an avocado and honey DIY face mask is also a win.

Avocados are full of fatty acids which help to soothe and moisturize dry skin while honey is a natural hydrator and astringent that treats acne and inflammation without drying out or irritating the skin. Thus, making this the best combo. All you have to do is mix half an avocado with one tablespoon of honey, rub it all over your face, and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

#4. DIY face mask to improve uneven skin tone & texture

You don’t need to spend megabucks on facials or stock up on scrubs to achieve super-smooth skin. All you need is a tablespoon full of natural plain yogurt, honey, and turmeric powder. Just like milk, yogurt is filled with lactic acid that fades away rough and dead skin cells to reveal new ones. While honey makes skin soft and elastic, turmeric is useful in combating pigmentation. Mix the natural plain yogurt, honey, and turmeric, apply on your face, and leave for 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and you are on your way to a more even skin tone.

Chemically processed face masks for oily skin tend to be filled with ultra-striping and harsh ingredients that end up doing more harm than good. But these two tasted and trusted ingredients: egg whites and aloe vera, help in absorbing excess oil without hurting the skin.

Egg whites contain natural antibacterial properties that can help prevent clogged pores while absorbing excess oil, and aloe vera is of course, an MVP in calming, soothing, and hydrating the skin. If your skin is overproducing oil as a result of irritation, this DIY homemade face mask can work wonders. All you have to do is blend the egg white with fresh aloe vera gel, dab it onto the face, leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

Blackheads are essentially clogged pores that occur as a result of over secretion of oil and sebum. Blackheads become more vivid and take the form of dark spots and pigmentation due to sun exposure, pollution, and lifestyle factors. To combat this problem, you need two teaspoons of unflavored gelatin, one tablespoon of mint, and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients together, dab a thick layer over your face, and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
