1. Twilight star Gregory Tyree Boyce and Nigerian girlfriend found dead
‘Twilight’ actor Gregory Tyree Boyce, 30. was on Wednesday, May 13 found dead in his Las Vegas condo alongside his Nigerian girlfriend Natalie Adepoju, 27. The couple had been dating for about a year.
“Greg’s cousin woke up and noticed that Greg’s car was still at the house. He was worried because Greg was to be in LA. His cousin went to check on him and found them,” reports said.
“Greg was definitely a person who loved life and [was] super positive… super animated, really witty, he was the life of the party. I will definitely miss him. He was one of my funniest friends in LA and made my experience there really memorable.”
Who was Natalie Adepoju?
Very little was known about her publicly as she stayed out of the limelight. Her family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to transport her body back to their family home. In a letter on the page, they wrote: “We are writing this letter to let you know that our loving daughter, niece, sister, cousin, and friend Natalie Adepoju suddenly passed away on May 13, 2020 in Las Vegas.” They added “Natalie had so much life to live and we are saddened that her life was cut short. Natalie leaves behind her one and only baby boy Egypt , her father, two brothers and one sister, and a host of family and friends who love her dearly.”
Her boyfriend, Gregory Tyree Boyce played Tyler Crowley in Twilight, one of Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) high school friends. Nigerian celebrity news
2. UK sanctions Chris Oyakhilome’s TV over 5G/COVID-19 claims
The Office of Communications, the regulatory authority for the broadcasting and telecommunications industries in the United Kingdom, has sanctioned Loveworld Limited, operators of LoveWorld, a religious cable channel, for airing unsubstantiated claims linking the coronavirus pandemic to 5G technology.
The television network owned by the Founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, was also penalized for feeding viewers with the claim that coronavirus is a global cover-up.
In a statement on Monday published on its website and social media platforms, the Office of Communications stated that the matter had been investigated before the caution was issued. Nigerian celebrity news
3. Robots arrive to screen Rwandan patients
Five humanoid robots, manufactured by a Belgium-based company, have been delivered to Rwanda where they will assist in coronavirus screening, deliver food and drugs to patients, as well as act as video-conferencing links between patients and doctors. Each robot has been given a Rwandan name – Akazuba, Ikizere, Mwiza, Ngabo, and Urumuri.
Their main purpose is to reduce health workers’ exposure to COVID-19 patients, Rwanda’s Health Minister Daniel Ngamije told the media.
“We need additional robots for other duties like disinfection in public space and we are working to get them,” he added.
4. Ravi Zacharias Dies of Cancer
Apologist Ravi Zacharias, 74, died Tuesday, two months after he announced he had been diagnosed with cancer.
The popular author and Christian teacher was known for his work through Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), which focused on apologetic arguments for the existence of God and the reasonableness of Christianity.
He preached in more than 70 countries and authored more than 30 books in his 48-year career, teaching Christians to engage with skeptics and arguing that the Christian worldview has robust answers to humanity’s existential questions.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and their three children.
5. Six positive coronavirus tests across three Premier League clubs
There were six positive tests for coronavirus across three Premier League clubs on Sunday and Monday, as the top flight prepares to resume in June. The unnamed players or staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for seven days.
A total of 748 players and staff from 19 clubs were tested. The remaining club did their tests on Tuesday and this will be included in Saturday’s results. Squads are starting non-contact training from Tuesday.
The Premier League has been suspended since 13 March because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with 92 fixtures remaining. The league had previously identified 12 June for matches to possibly start again, but there is now an expectation this will need to be pushed back.
