Just recently relocated from Canada to California with their son Archie Harrison, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sure settled in well as they revealed to OprahMag.com the name of their new nonprofit named Archewell.

According to O, The Oprah Magazine, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed this: “…before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’ — the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.’ We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.”

The magazine further revealed that the Sussexes had filed a patent application with the US Trademark and Patent Office on March 10th in California, which outlines a range of activities that are being considered. The couple is set to explore a number of different directions, from educational materials and informational programming to magazines, electronic books, and audiobooks on a variety of topics; downloadable photographs; and downloadable image files containing artwork, text, audio, video and graphics relating to music, motion picture films.

According to OprahMag.com, a source also says that other items were in the patent application, including specifically, “tops, bottoms, shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, jeans, shorts, sweaters, jackets, socks; loungewear; rainwear; footwear; headwear.” According to the source, these additions were made purely as a “protective” measure to prevent others from profiting off their namesake.

That’s not all! Their application also states that the couple may provide charitable foundation services through Archewell — namely, providing fundraising activities, scholarships and financial assistance for programs and services of others; providing grants to charities.

Also cited is the potential launch of a wellness website, which could capitalize on the groundbreaking work Prince Harry and Meghan have done previously in the mental health arena including “providing a website featuring information in the field of nutrition, general health and mental health; counselling services.”

The couple is currently focusing on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic and will be launching Archewell when the time is right.
