From her days as an actress to becoming a Duchess, wife and mother, Meghan Markle has not slowed down on her style game one bit as she continues to show us how much of a power dresser she is. The 38-year-old has been steadily delivering rave-worthy looks that leave her fans and critics looking out for what she’d wear next.

When it comes to Meghan Markle’s style, the world agrees that she’s for sure a force to reckon with. If any more proof was needed, Lyst just released its 2019 Year in Fashion list naming the Duchess of Sussex its No. 1 Power Dresser. According to the fashion search platform, Meghan Markle’s outfits fired up an average of 216% increase in searches for pieces similar to those she wore.

One thing is for sure, this year, Meghan Markle boosted sales for a lot of brands including one of her favourite brands, J Crew, after she styled a striped skirt by the brand for an engagement in Cape Town, South Africa. The fashion world even termed this boost in sales the ‘Meghan Effect’ – since most things the Duchess wears repeatedly sell out in record time.

One of Meghan Markle’s standout moments of 2019 was when she met with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, wearing a stunning dress by Club Monaco. The patterned dress sold out within 24 hours. According to Lyst, when the Duchess wore multiple shirt dresses during her tour of South Africa, searches for the category rose 45% month-over-month, per Lyst, with searches for her Club Monaco dress in particular spiking by a whopping 570%.

Meghan may have been the most powerful, but she wasn’t the only influential dresser of the year. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Lisa BlackPink, Kylie Jenner, Lizzo, Harry Styles and Billy Porter also made the list.
