The global fashion industry is a trillion dollar one and from traditional boutiques to e-commerce platforms, designers to stylists, there are quite a number of players within this dynamic industry. While celebrities and models often front the most creative looks, along with designers, top stylists like Law Roach are responsible for creating the most iconic fashion looks of our time.
Known for turning his clients into real life and internet sensations, Law Roach has been listed among the game changers and his Stylist of the Year award at the 2019 InStyle Awards is the latest of such top recognitions. The American Next Top Model co-judge is one of Hollywood’s hippiest stylists and has helped to transform the brand of many well-known celebrities most notable, Celine Dion.
Law Roach‘s life changed in 2009 when Kanye West walked into his now-defunct Deliciously Vintage boutique in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. This chance meeting introduced Law to the world of celebrities. Taking a chance as an outsider to the fashion industry, Roach moved to Los Angeles where he was introduced to Zendaya Coleman. The movie star became his first major client and the rest as they say is history.
Now popularly known as Luxury Law, Roach has gone on to work with celebrities like Ariana Grande, Mary J Blige, Brandy, Monica Brown, Jessy J, Tifanny Haddish, Jameela Jamil, Tom Holland, Mariah Carey, Tracee Ellis Ross, Demi Lovato, Normani Kordei, Anne Hathaway and a host of other top hollywood names.
The 39 year old ‘image architect’ became the first African-American stylist to cover the annual Hollywood Reporter’s Stylist and Stars issue along with Zendaya and Celine Dion, and now with being crowned the Instyle Magazine 2019 Stylist of Year, it seems the future can only be brighter for one of Hollywood’s greatest stylists.
