No Time To Waste: The Fastest Ways To Dry Your Nail Polish At Home

3-fastest-ways-to-dry-your-nail-polish

Every woman wants to look beautiful and well put together. This, for some women, means getting a manicure regularly. While many prefer a trip to the manicurist, others would rather get it done themselves. Polishing your nails at home will certainly save you a few bucks, but the downside is usually how long it takes to dry. Waiting for your nail polish to dry can be pretty annoying, especially after one too many smudges.

Before you start coating your nails with your preferred polish, you have to keep in mind that you don’t need a lot of strokes to get the job done. Usually, with only three strokes, you should thoroughly cover your nail. This is one major tip that will ensure that your nail polish dries fast enough without leaving smudges.

When polishing, start at the base of your nail and stroke the polish to the left and right sides before proceeding down the center. If you have followed these steps and still can’t wait for your polish to dry out fast enough for you to attend to other things, then these three tricks will definitely come in handy!

Check out 3 quick and easy ways to dry your nail polish without smudges…

#1. Use a blow dryer

Once you’re done painting, whip out your blow dryer and let it get to drying. For this method, be sure to use the cool setting on your blow dryer, as high temperatures can make certain polish runny.

Swirl the dryer around your nails in small, circular motions making sure not to use too much force or hold it too close as it will blow ripples into your polish. If you have a nail polish dryer, then that’s perfect! This works faster than having to blow your nails dry with your mouth.

Tip: Remember to grab the dryer and plug it in close by before you start painting your nails. You wouldn’t want to set up the dryer with wet nails would you?

#2. Dip into ice-cold water

If you don’t own a blow dryer, then water and some ice cubes are sure to rescue you. Grab a bowl with some water in it and add about 2-3 ice cubes. After your nails are painted, wait about two minutes to let the polish set as this will ensure it adheres to your nails fully. Then dip your nails into the cold water and hold them there for a few minutes. When you notice water beading on top of the nail surface, then you know that your nail lacquer is completely dry. Repeat the process for each coat.

#3. Spray it!

This is one method I am yet to try, but a lot of beauty enthusiasts swear by it. A spritz of non-stick cooking oil has been said to be a great way to cut down on nail polish drying time. Alternatively, a little hairspray can also work magic if you are out of cooking oil. After painting your nails, spritz a little cooking spray on your yet-to-dry manicure by holding the can about 30 centimeters away from your hand. This ensures that the force of the aerosol does not smudge the wet polish. Wait a few minutes and rinse your hands with cold water.
