Even though the flu can affect anyone at any time of the year, it gets worse during the rainy season. The common cold and flu share some mild differences. The flu is mostly a bacteria infection which often requires medical treatment while the cold, on the other hand, brings nasal congestion such as itchy throats, sneezing, running nose amongst others.

The most effective way to keep the common cold at bay is through constant hand washing. It is also advisable to use tissue paper or disposable napkin instead of a handkerchief. Handkerchief kept in the pocket with the virus has a way of spreading infection. Don’t forget to keep warm and wear children warm clothes always.
