SR Review: Lanre Da Silva Ajayi Brought Spring to Life With Her Collection

Lanre Da Silva Ajayi’s presentation at Arise Fashion Week started off with Naomi Campbell as the opening act and the entire presentation would match the level of artistic design and tailoring we’ve come to know her for.

Among other looks, the Lanre Da Silva Ajayi collection featured a series of asymmetric designs with well detailed and exaggerated sleeves. The outfits came in a rich mix of glossy fabrics and floral prints which further elevated their elegance.

If you think that the designs looked similar to Victorian-era pieces with modern twists to them, then you’re not alone. While we wouldn’t tag this her best collection yet, from the unique placement of ruffles and pleat details to the rich micro-tassels and an artistic play on prints and textures, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi proved that attention to details is still what she has mastered most.

Take a look at select pieces from the collection…

It would have been easier for us to simply upload images of the collections that showed at the Arise Fashion Week 2019, but you deserve more than that. So we’re still on task, reviewing our favourite collections as shown by emerging and eminent brands.
